MODOC COUNTY, Calif. - Firefighters are battling the Lone Fire near Pinnacle Lake, Modoc National Forest said the fire is at 5,737 acres, 87% containment as of September 10. The cause of the fire was lightning.
The fire is about 2 miles south of Pinnacle Lake and was fire reported at 4:14 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Thunderstorms moved over the national forest and firefighters discovered 17 new wildfires on September 6, said the U.S Forest Service.
