CHICO, Calif. -- The Loma Vista School had a ribbon cutting ceremony, unveiling the new building in Chico.
Loma Vista is a special education preschool that partners with non-profit, Innovative Preschool.
Work for the new school started in February 2018 and finished in March.
School officials said construction cost $13.2 million and it was all made possible thanks to Measure K.
We spoke with a Loma Vista parent who told Action News Now why they were excited for the new building.
"I love it so much because my daughter she's been so excited to see it grow. We come by here every single day and we're excited to see it grow. She keeps seeing the sign and the colors and she's so excited to come back. It's been a while since she's been here so she's excited to be back," said Shawn Dorton.
The new building features 14 new teaching spaces, indoor and outdoor play areas and an occupational therapy gym.
