CHICO, Calif. - This holiday season is unlike anything we've ever seen before.
As many businesses continue to struggle with the constant changes, one local pedi-cab owner is finding new ways to adapt to the stay-at-home order while still spreading some Christmas cheer around town.
Mike Griffith, also known as "Mike G-Ride" says, "Right now what I'm doing now is helping others who can't leave their house. I figured the best way to help is to keep doing what I'm doing and go right up to the driveways and deliver presents."
You've probably seen him rocking the streets of downtown Chico on his pedi-cab, but he has since transformed it into his "Pedi-sleigh." Which he uses to help deliver presents to people who are unable to leave their houses.
"I figured that'll help people stay at home and that way our big guy [Santa Claus] doesn't get COVID-19," said Griffith. "I don't wanna be stuck at home, I don't like it."
He hopes that by peddling his way into people's hearts, it will help bring them a bit of joy.
"Everyone smiles when they see me, it's a warming thing," shared Griffith. "I don't know how many more years I can do this so why not keep doing what I'm doing."
Mike's also encouraging others to give back.
"Be nice to someone, be nice to people, do something special for somebody when you can."
He says he is all booked up for Christmas Eve deliveries but he still has some openings for Christmas Day. You can contact him through Facebook or click here.
