CHICO, Calif. - La Comida, a local restaurant in Chico was closed for a few weeks but is now open for takeout.
Owner Michael Pavis says he's pleasantly surprised by the number of customers he's seen. Pavis says, employees always wear gloves, some choose to wear masks and they are cleaning constantly.
"Being in food service we are super crazy about being careful about how we handle food and how we clean things it really hasn't changed a whole lot in the way we do things," he said.
Pavis says he's feeding off customers' comfort levels when they come in, and no one seems to on the edge by the way they do things.
The City of Chico launched a new program to engage with customers and employees, as well as to provide guidelines for businesses trying to reopen. City officials say Chico is seeing positive results from businesses following CDC guidelines so far.
