CHICO, Calif. - For the past few years more Californians are leaving the state than people moving here. One Real Estate Agent in Chico told Action News Now he has had multiple friends who were part of that trend. Brent Silberbauer says because of that - with the help of others - he has started a show to restore homes in Chico.

Brent Silberbauer has lived in Chico for over 20 years. He says he didn't want to see more friends move out of state, so he came up with the idea of creating a show to try and encourage people to fix up their homes and stay in Chico.

"When people invest in their house, they win, the neighborhood wins, the small businesses win because they work on their houses, and the taxes and everything, and little by little the city of Chico wins," said Silberbauer.

Siberbauer works at Sheraton Real Estate, but the company also does remodeling.

"But nobody knows they do remodels and they do great jobs and I would see the before and after pictures and this is here and town and it is local, so I wanted to showcase these guys' work," said Silberbauer.

Silberbauer added there's a housing shortage in Chico so he thinks it is a great opportunity for people to go into the trait of building and remodeling.

"I think it is an amazing thing, in the video, we try to show the teamwork. It is a whole team of people to come together and make a remodel happen, a big part of that is the skilled labor guys, the craftsmen," said Silberbauer.

Silberbauer says they teamed up with California Renovation and Design Center which is a local design center at the bottom of Skyway.

"We didn't go to Lowe's, we didn't go to Home Depot, we didn't go to a big box corporate place, we tried to stay with local guys. So they provided all the materials then the work was also all the local guys at Sheraton Services," said Silberbauer.

The first three episodes of the show have been made, Silberbauer says it is all one home and each video is about five minutes.

After plenty of morning clouds, we had plentiful sunshine this afternoon with weaker wind and warmer highs. The clear sky and light wind will lead to a chillier start Friday morning, and we'll have a breezy and mild Friday before more changes arrive.
