CHICO, Calif. - Little Chico Creek Elementary recognized more than 100 of its students Monday for their outstanding citizenship qualities.
Students were given citizenship awards at the Chico Elks Lodge.
Traits such as being kind, responsible, and safe were recognized.
The school said by doing so, the ceremony encourages traits that lead to success and happiness in life.
"For being responsible, it's just for me, doing the rules which is responsible and helping someone out," said one award winner, Hailey Fellner. "It's nice to recognize people by showing them off, showing what they did to earn their thing, like respectful or safe or nice."
Six students received a special award showing outstanding citizenship qualities.
