Las Plumas High Students to Compete in State Academic Decathalon

Las Plumas High School team wins Butte County Academic Decathalon.

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Las Plumas High School students came away with a first place victory in a "battle of the minds" between Butte County High Schools.

The team won the Butte County Academic Decathlon, scoring 34 thousand 209.90 points. The competition took place Monday, February 4th.

Teams are comprised of three divisions; Honor students (3.75 and above GPA), Scholastic students (3.00‐3.74 GPA), Varsity students (2.99 GPA and below). Students compete against other students in the same grade point category, with bronze, silver, and gold medals being awarded for each of the 10 events.

Now, the Las Plumas High School team will get right to work studying for the California State Academic Decathalon, which takes place March 22nd and 23rd in Sacramento.
