Large amount of heroin, meth found during Oroville traffic stop

OROVILLE, Calif. – K-9 “Chico” assisted Butte County Sheriff’s deputies in an Oroville traffic stop on Sunday.

33-year-old Misty Black, and passenger, 38-year-old Timothy Jones were pulled over for vehicle code violations on Lincoln Blvd. at Ophir Road in Oroville, according to BCSO.

Deputy Arredondo arrived with his K-9 partner “Chico” who alerted to the odor of narcotics after a sniff around the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities said they located multiple packages of narcotics, totaling 25 grams of heroin, and 5.2 grams of methamphetamine. They also located items that indicated possible sales of narcotics, such as packaging material and a digital scale.

Black and Jomes were arrested on multiple drug related charges. BCSO said after Jones was booked into the Butte County Jail, he was also found to be in possession of 1.6 grams of heroin. His bail was set at $62,000.
