PARADISE, Calif. - Despite the Camp Fire, Achieve Charter School in Paradise still hosted its annual holiday concert all thanks to a large instrument donation.
The Guitar Center Music Foundation donated a full suite of instruments to the school's music program so that the show could go on.
Students and teachers who lost instruments in the fire were incredibly surprised.
Lori Pine, the music teacher for Active Charter School, said that the foundation kept bringing in more and more instruments.
"The quality is better than we ever had and this bad will be better than it ever was," she said.
The students in the music program also appreciated the donation.
"Music can just bring joy when something bad like the fire happens," said Kristopher Nichols, a 5th-grade music student at the school. "You can play music and that can bring joy to your life."
The students had been rehearsing in a temporary location for Friday's concert and say they are excited to continue performing with the new instruments.
