ANDERSON, Calif. – Two people were arrested after Anderson K-9 Ivan assisted officers during a traffic stop.
On Feb. 27, just before 8:30 p.m., an Anderson Police K-9 Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of North Street and Riverside Ave. for a vehicle code violation.


The driver of the vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Carleton Lofland, of Redding. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as 40-year-old Kristi Cull, of Shasta Lake City. Lofland was found to be on felony probation out of Shasta County for a weapons violation, according to APD.
Officers deployed K-9 Ivan, who alerted officers of the presence of narcotics near the driver's door of the vehicle.
Officers said they located one ounce of methamphetamine, prescription medications, drug packaging materials, a functioning digital scale, drug paraphernalia, and a canister of bear mace.
Both Lofland and Cull were placed under arrest on charges of possession and transportation of methamphetamine for the purpose of sales, possession of pepper spray by a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several additional charges, according to APD.
