REDDING, Calif. – Police arrested three people they say were major narcotics dealers in a Redding neighborhood.
Around 4 p.m. on Dec. 8, officers from the Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) served a search warrant at a home in the 1600 block of French Lace Lane. The NPU said it was investigating large quantities of narcotics being trafficked from the home.
Authorities said John Muri, 62, Roberto Alvarez, 43, and Rona Edwards, 26, were detained. Muri was arrested for sales of methamphetamine, and for being in possession of a loaded firearm while possessing narcotics for sale. Alvarez was arrested for sales of both methamphetamine and heroin, according to police. Lastly, Edwards was arrested for sales of methamphetamine. All three were booked into the Shasta County Jail.
K-9 Chase assisted NPU with a drug search of the home and located 10.3 pounds of methamphetamine and 15.8 ounces of heroin hidden within the home.
The Neighborhood Police Unit will continue to aggressively target drug dealers in Redding neighborhoods and encourages citizens to report suspected drug activity online at the Redding Police Department website.
