ANDERSON, Calif. – Anderson Police Officers arrested a man early Friday morning with the assistance of K-9 Aero.
Just before 2 a.m. Friday, an Anderson Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Richard Louis Wagner, of Anderson, for a vehicle code violation, according to police. The traffic stop happened on the northbound I-5 off-ramp to Balls Ferry Road.
As Wagner pulled down the off-ramp, he threw an object out of the passenger window onto the roadway shoulder in the I-5 construction area. Wagner was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision out of Shasta County for drug sales, and to also have an active felony warrant for his arrest.
Officers deployed K-9 Aero for a narcotics search in the area of the off-ramp where Wagner was located throwing the item. K-9 Aero quickly located a zippered pouch with meth and heroin inside.
A large amount of marijuana, drug packaging materials, and a digital scale were also found inside Wagner’s vehicle, according to police. He was then arrested on several charges, including for his warrant out of Shasta County.
