PARADISE, Calif. - It is time again for Johnny Appleseed Days. It is is the oldest ongoing harvest festival in California, right up on the Paradise ridge in Butte County.
Residents and out of town visitors had a chance to look at the work of craftspeople and food vendors, and the kids had plenty of games to play.
The centerpiece of the event, though, is the legendary apple pies. The organizers make 1,000 pies from Noble's Orchard, a longtime local establishment.
"I think what the Paradise residents like about this event is that there is something for everyone," said Monica Nelson, organizer of the event.
Johnny Appleseed Dcontinuenues on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The event is held at Terry Ashe Park located at 6626 Skyway, Paradise.
