Crews continue to battle fires in Glenn Zone

ELK CREEK, Calif. - Firefighters with the Orland Fire Department have been assisting Cal Fire Tehama-Glenn Unit in the hills to the west of Orland.

The Glenn Zone has multiple fires burning, including the Ivory/Doe Fire and Tatham Fire. Personnel will continue to construct direct and indirect control lines and provide for structure defense.

13 structures have been lost because of these fires.

IVORY/DOE FIRE: 287,106 acres, 23% contained (total acreage includes both state and federal land; with 15,594 acres on state lands).

TATHAM FIRE: 15,594 acres, 9% containment (total acreage includes both state and federal land; with 2,881 acres on state lands).


EVACUATION WARNINGS

  • The Glenn County Evacuation Order has been reduced to an Evacuation Warning in the following area. The evacuation order has been reduced to an evacuation warning for the area of Newville (County Road 200) from County Road 306, west to National Forest boundary from Tehama County Line, south to Burrows Gap, outside of the National Forest boundary and outside of the fire perimeter.

Gusty winds and very dry conditions are continuing to result in a Red Flag Warning for high fire danger today. Temperatures will also be much warmer this afternoon. Dry and mild weather returns on Wednesday and continues through this weekend.
