Igo Fire Department: "Time to evacuate"

Igo Fire Department Officials are urging their residents to evacuate the area due to the Carr Fire.

Shasta County, Calif. - Igo Fire Department Officials are urging their residents to evacuate the area due to the Carr Fire.

Fire officials posted to their Facebook page, "time to go igo. the fire is coming down muletown ready to hit placer. time to go now. leave igo take your pets time to go."

Igo is an unincorporated community southwest of Redding and just south of areas burned by the Carr Fire.

Evacuees should know Shasta College is at capacity, anyone evacuating the areas should go to either Weaverville Elementary, Grace Baptist Church, Crosspointe Church, and the Redding Rodeo Grounds for large animals. Rolling Hills Casino has room for people but they say they are at capacity for household pets.

The Excessive Heat Warning will expire on Thursday evening, but we'll stay hot on Friday. There's a chance for active weather as early as Friday night, and a very good chance for active weather on Saturday. We'll also be much cooler this weekend.
