After a month long investigation with the help of multiple agencies the Humboldt County Drug Task Force served multiple warrants for locations associated with a heroin distribution ring, and seized almost 6 pounds of heroin.
On Monday afternoon agents conducted a traffic stop on Highway 101 in Humboldt County and arrested Nestor Omar Valenzuela who was known to be involved with the distribution of heroin.
Inside the car officers found a hidden compartment that contained 13 ounces of black tar heroin packaged for sales.
During the multiple warrant search of properties agents found nearly 2 pounds of raw tar heroin and over 2 pounds of packaged heroin for sales including recovered scales, packaging material for sales, as well as over 40,000 dollars in US currency.
Agents found that the kitchen was being used for the cutting and processing of raw heroin for distribution.
Agents arrested Juan Jose Garcia-Barraza who was found inside and was known by agents to be associated to with distribution of heroin.
Agents found 2 other vehicles on the property that contained specially fabricated hidden compartments.
