Human skull found in Chester identified as missing man

The remains of a missing Greenville man have been found in Chester.

QUINCY, Calif. - According to the Plumas County Sheriff the skull found by a hunter on Monday belongs to a missing Greenville man.

Dominic Potts has been missing since November of 2018. He was 21 at the time. His remains were identified through the use of a forensic odontologist.

Investigators say Potts' vehicle had been located shortly after he was reported missing in the same vicinity of where the skull was discovered.

QUINCY, Calif. - A human skull was found in Chester by a hunter, according to the Plumas County Sheriff's Office.

The hunter reported finding a skull in a wooded area at the south end off First Avenue in Chester on. The report to authorities was made on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020.

A deputy and a sergeant were sent out to investigate.  They confirmed that it was a human skull, and then called in a Search and Rescue Team to search for additional remains.

The skull has been taken to the medical examiner's office for identification.
