House fire in Magalia destroys home

An early morning house fire on Manatee Circle in Magalia cause the home's complete destruction, according to the CAL FIRE Butte Unit.

MAGALIA, Calif. - Early Sunday morning a home was destroyed by fire in Magalia. The cause of this fire in the 14000 block of Manatee Circle is still under investigation.

The reports of the fire started coming into the Oroville Emergency Command Center at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020.

A spokesperson for CAL FIRE Butte Unit said the first responders arrived to find a heavily involved structure with fire coming from multiple doors and windows and from one vehicle. Five fire engines responded, including firefighters from two volunteer companies.

All residents evacuated safely from the home. 18 people were involved in fighting the fire, which was still being mopped up late Sunday morning. CAL FIRE said the home was destroyed.
