It was a windy Saturday with temperatures on the rise. Look for temperatures to heat up quick much more so on Sunday, and the gusty winds to continue through Saturday... leading to high fire danger!

A Red Flag Warning for high fire danger is in effect for the Sacramento Valley this weekend. Warming temperatures, gusty north winds and low humidity will create this high fire danger. The main threat will be the possibility of grass fires in the Valley. The mountains will see much lighter north winds, and therefore are not included in the Red Flag Warning.

Valley high temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 90's on Sunday but that is just the beginning of warmer temperatures.

The winds will diminish to the 5 to 15 mph range by Monday, but that's when the heat really surges. Valley highs will will be above 100 degrees on Monday, and then warm up a few degrees more on Tuesday and Wednesday Look for our highs to range between 100 and 105 both Monday and 102-107 on Tuesday. It will be hot again on Wednesday.. then into the upper 90's to finish next week. It's going to be a hot week next week!
