**UPDATE: In the Eastern portion of Shasta County we have a small chance of precipitation by Tuesday afternoon and early evening as the upper level trof swings through the region.

We could see the same system kick up a little wind over the Sierra and Southern Cascade ridges as it moves through.

Temperatures are looking to be a few degrees cooler thanks to a stronger Delta Breeze

Chico, Calif.--This week, expect to see a gradual cooling, dry conditions.

Smoke and haze will continue, especially near wildfires.

Mainly clear skies, except for a few high clouds, across the area early this morning.

Current temperatures are similar to Sunday ago - mid 40s to 70s this morning.

A trough of low-pressure moves in this week, cooling us down and bringing some precipitation chances to our North.
As winds pick up from the Southwest, we can also expect some of the smoke to lift and see some better air-quality.

We'll see that system weaken by thursday, so it'll warm up just a little toward the end of the work week.

At the end of the weekend, we see a potential for an upper low digging over the Pacific Northwest on Monday.

That means a slight shower possibility over the northern mountains, and a significant cooling on Monday with daytime highs
dropping to as much as 10 degrees below normal.
