PARADISE, Calif. – The Hope Plaza in Paradise is one step closer to construction. The plaza is located on the corner of Foster Road and Skyway.

The design calls for a stone pillar, a hero plaza, a reflection fountain, and a 'Forest Wall of Honor.' Currently, there are some signs and fences up.

“This was an inspiration, this area that you see behind us has been an eyesore since long before the fire,” said town councilmember, Melissa Schuster. “It’s an awkward lot there's not a lot that can be done with it and a group came together and said why can’t we make something beautiful for our community that inspires hope."

All funds used for this construction and maintenance are from private sources. No public funds from the town will be used for the project.

Community members are looking at a target completion date by Nov. 8, 2021.
