Honor a Veteran in Chico this Memorial Day

Memorial Day is less than a week away and the Veterans of Foreign Wars wants to help you honor your veteran.

CHICO, Calif. – Memorial Day is less than a week away and the Veterans of Foreign Wars wants to help you honor your veteran.

For $100, you can have a flag flown along Mangrove Ave. in Chico. Simply mail your check to VFW Post 1555, 554 Rio Lindo Ave., Chico, CA. 95926.

A nameplate will also be mounted on a memorial monument.

The flags will be posted on various holidays. For more information, contact Mike Halldorson at (530) 513-3730.

Also happening along Mangrove Ave. on Memorial Day will be a drive-through parade.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. decorate your car and pay your respects to the men and women who served our country.

Prizes will be awarded to the most decorated cars. Attendees can also enter to win a brand new Nex 4 burner gas grill. The event is free and open to anyone in the community.
