Homeless Redding man arrested for burning girlfriends clothes

The Redding Fire Department responded to a reported transient fire in which a homeless man was caught burning his girlfriend's clothes behind a Lowes.

REDDING, Calif. - On Feb 2nd at approximately 8 a.m. the Redding Fire Department responded to a reported transient fire to the rear of Lowes on 1200 E. Cypress Ave. 

Officials say that upon arrival the first Engine Company found a male transient next to a burning pallet and clothing stacked on it. A Redding Fire Department investigator was called to the scene.

Officials say a field interview was conducted and it was determined that he was burning all his girlfriend's clothing because he was upset she left their camp sometime during the night. 

The male transient identified as Ray Brown, 47, was arrested for arson, willfully and maliciously burning property and booked into Shasta County Jail.
