CHICO, Calif. – Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning on the Esplanade in Chico.

A driver in a Ford truck hit a traffic light around 8:30 a.m. on West 1st Ave. and the Esplanade, then ran off on foot, leaving a pickup truck behind, according to police.

Police are not releasing many details at this time, because it is a criminal case and still under investigation.

The damaged traffic light has been repaired. The road was closed for nearly an hour, however, it is now back open.
