Highway 97 reopened on Thursday after a deadly crash in Siskiyou County involving two vehicles.

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - Highway 97 reopened on Thursday after a deadly crash in Siskiyou County involving two vehicles.

Caltrans District 2 first reported the crash on its Twitter page just after 1:30 p.m. 

One-way traffic control was in effect on the highway, approximately four miles north of Weed.

Authorities said the crash involved a semi-truck and an SUV.

The roadway reopened just after 2:10 p.m. on Thursday.

Caltrans District 2 said two people were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.
