SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Highway 299 has reopened 6 miles east of Redding after reports of police activity, according to Caltrans District 2.
Caltrans first reported the closure around 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday. The closure for eastbound traffic was at Kern Drive and the closure for Westbound traffic was at Deschutes Road.

TRAFFIC ALERT: SR 299E is currently CLOSED approximately 6 miles east of Redding due to police activity. Closure for eastbound traffic is at Kern Drive and closure for westbound traffic is at Deschutes Road. No ETO at this time. Motorists advised to choose alternate routes.
