The relief brought by the rain and cooler temperatures yesterday sadly will be short lived. This weekend begins a gradual warming trend in our temperatures. For now, we are right where we are supposed to be in our daytime highs. The valley is expected to reach the low to mid-90s while the foothills can see temps in the upper 80s to low 90s. Air quality for the area is stuck in the pattern of better air quality during the day and worse air quality overnight. This mainly impacts the North Valley as the smoke tends to settle into the valley.
As we kick off the beginning of the work week, temperatures continue their climb into the mid to upper 90s for most of the valley with a few areas reaching the 100 degree mark on Tuesday. This will be the peak of the heat during this time, Wednesday will bring the beginning of a cooling trend. The end of the week and into the weekend may see temperatures drop back into the upper 80s as a system passes to the north. The details on this are still coming together, so we will have to wait and see how things develop between now and then.
