BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - Flu activity is slowly increasing across the country and Butte County health officials said it has been confirmed in Butte County.
Butte County Public Health officials said they have received confirmation of early flu activity in Butte County.
“Flu season varies from year to year. Typically, we don’t see flu activity until mid-to-late December,” said Butte County Health Officer Dr.Andy Miller. “Vaccination will help you and your family stay healthy for work or school and protect others from coming down with the flu.”
California is one of the six states already reporting widespread activity. Four pediatric deaths have also been reported.
The CDC continues to urge everyone ages six months and older to get their flu shot.
