PARADISE, Calif. - Saturday a major injury crash occurred less than a mile south of the Paradise Airport on Clark Road (Highway 191).

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) a man was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound. The CHP said he crossed the double yellow lines to pass a brown KIA SUV.

He saw a vehicle coming toward him, heading southbound on Clark. The Harley driver moved back over to his northbound line, but ended up clipping the front driver side corner of the KIA.

Officers said he lost control of the motorcycle and ran off of the roadway to the right. The motorcycle flipped over and the driver was ejected.

The Harley driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries, but no one was injured in the KIA.

According to the CHP the Harley driver was wearing a helmet at the time. Drugs or alcohol do not seem to be a factor in the accident at this point, a CHP officer told Action News Now.

The road was never closed, said the CHP.
