Gridley man arrested after stolen car catches fire

Corning Police Department arrested a man after the vehicle he stole caught fire.

CORNING, Calif. - Corning Police Department arrested a man early Thursday morning after the vehicle he stole caught fire.

Police responded to the area of Rawson and Samson Roads, for a traffic stop when Shilo Walker Squires continued resulting in a pursuit.

Squires failed to stop driving an unreported stolen vehicle from the Gridley area. Before crashing in the area of 6th Avenue and Corning Road.

Three occupants attempted to flee the vehicle and were taken into custody.

Squires, 23 of Gridley, was arrested for felony evading, vehicle theft and violation of parole.
