Governor Newsom takes action to prevent Medical Marijuana ID Cards from expiring during pandemic

Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order extending the validity of medical marijuana ID cards during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency.

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. –  Governor Gavin Newsom Thursday signed an executive order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, extending the validity of medical cannabis identification cards that would otherwise have expired on or after March 4, 2020.

The cards will remain valid until the Governor's order is modified or rescinded, or until the State of Emergency is terminated, whichever occurs sooner.
