TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - A man is behind bars for gun and drug charges after a chase through Red Bluff.

The chase began around 11 at night in Corning on Dec. 29.

CHP officers say Raymond Walston was driving faster than 100 miles per hour and refused to stop.

Calling in Tehama County sheriff's deputies, they set up spike strips on Liberty Avenue.

Walston hit the strips and then rammed a patrol car before taking off on foot but officers quickly chased him down.

The 30-year-old was booked into the Tehama County Jail and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Light scattered showers are on tap for the start of your Thursday, and I'm tracking heavier rain ahead from Thursday afternoon through mid day Friday. We'll have a lull in our wet pattern late Friday through early Saturday, but even heavier rain and snow will return this weekend and persist into next week. Major travel impacts will be possible across northern California from this wet weather.
