Freezing this morning, but another warm afternoon ahead

The majority of Northern California has dipped to, or passed the freezing mark this morning, but high temperatures will be well above average again today.

Bundle up, and get ready to scrape more frost off of your windshield this morning. Temperatures have become even cooler than yesterday across almost all of Northern California, and Redding has actually dipped into the 20's. Most valley areas are starting the morning in the low to mid 30's, while mountain areas have dipped into the teens to mid 20's again this morning. Sunny skies, and North winds to 10mph are in store for today. High temperatures are projected to end up in the mid 60's to low 70's in the valley, while mountain locations range from the mid 40's to mid 50's later today.

Temperatures will be in the same range, and skies will stay sunny for the next 3 days. A modest dip in temperatures will return on Friday. Showers will pass by to our North this weekend, but high pressure will stay strong enough to keep any showers out of our area. Looks like the only big change heading towards the region will be cooler temperatures on the way for the start of next week. The potential for showers becomes slightly more likely as we head into the latter part of next week.

Thankfully our windy, fire danger weather pattern is coming to an end over northern California. The wind will decrease to lighter breezes late tonight through tomorrow, and our fire danger won't be quite as extreme going forward.
