Chico, Calif. - Kremer Dental Care in Chico is participating in Freedom Day USA by offering dental care to veterans, active military, spouses and kids under 18, on Friday, Oct. 9.

This is the fifth year the services will be offered, but because of COVID-19 it will look different than years prior.

The participants will be asked to wear a mask, they will be screened and there will be social distancing.

However, veterans are still invited to wear their colors and share their stories. They can get any work done as long as it can be done in a day.

Dr. Kremer says this day is very important to him.

"Well I think that the veterans and active military are an underprivileged class of people when it comes to dental care so this is an opportunity for us to help out. Our country would not be here if it were not for our veterans and our active military and all that they do," said Kremer. "This is our way of saying thank you. They make a huge sacrifice four our country that I think too many people forget."

In 2019 Kremer Dental Care provided $62,000 of free dentistry to over 60 veterans and their families.

Since this year looks different, if you want to be seen you must call in advance and reserve a spot. The number is 892-1218 and space is limited.

Veterans are asked to bring their military identification or proof of service.

We were frying on Friday around northern California and the extreme heat will continue through Father's Day. Please stay cool in this hot weather and be cautious due to our increased fire danger through the weekend.
