Forward progress stopped on vegetation fire in Shasta Lake

Forward progress of a vegetation fire in Shasta Lake has been stopped by firefighters.

SHASTA LAKE, Calif- Shasta Lake firefighters confirmed they have stopped forward progress of a vegetation fire off Interstate 5 in the City of Shasta Lake. 

The fire burned an eighth of an acre west of Interstate 5 between Shasta Dam Blvd. and Fawndale Rd. and is believed to have been started at a homeless camp, according to Shasta Lake firefighters.  

The cause is still under investigation but firefighters said it is lightly a cooking fire.
