Easton was arrested on Jan. 21, 2021, after an investigation revealed that a person who had access to Easton’s personal email and Chico State email accounts downloaded and uploaded child porn photos to and from the internet.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at Easton’s home and determined Easton was watching child porn on his cell phone where deputies were knocking on the door.

Officials located more than 100 photos of child porn and more than 100 photos of child erotica on his electronic devices.

Easton wrote a fantasy story for the images he possessed, according to Butte County District Attorney.

During an interview with the probation department, Easton admitted he have an addiction to child porn but said he was not harming anyone because he got the porn off the internet for free, according to Ramsey.

Ramsey added that Deputy District Attorney JJ Stark-Modlin said in court on Wednesday that possessing child porn, whether it’s free or not, creates a market for more molestations of children.
