Forbestown fire east of Oroville

A 58-acre vegetation fire broke out Friday morning off of Hurleton Swedes Flat Road and Jernigan Way.

OROVILLE, Calif. - A 58 acre vegetation fire broke out Friday morning off of Hurleton Swedes Flat Road and Jernigan Way.

Cal Fire got the call around 10:30 this morning and sent out two tankers and a helicopter to stop the fire from spreading.

It's a pretty remote area and ground crews had to hike to get in.

There are not a lot of homes in this area so Cal fire said there are no evacuations at this time.

The fire is 50% contained.
