LAKEHEAD, Calif. - A Thanksgiving tradition at a Shasta County Restaraunt brought community members closer together on Thanksgiving day.

At Pollard Flat Food and Fuel you can't help but feel like family. Tucked away along Interstate 5 in Lakehead, The Pollard Flat Food and Fuel, is a family-owned restaurant that continues to keep a family tradition alive.

"It's a blessing to give and the Lord says it's more a blessing to give than receive," Bill Harsh who owns Pollard Flat Food and Fuel said. "We just say thank you for this highway that has provided our livelihood for the past years."

For nearly 37 years, the restaurant has become a popular Thanksgiving spot for friends, family, and the community to stop and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal.

Several who attended told Action News Now how spectacular the food was. Adding that they always feel like family when eating there.

Harsh said he and his family start preparing the food a couple of days before Thanksgiving, and in this family, it's all hands on deck.

"We're not all here, but a good percentage of family members are here helping out and then more will all show-up throughout the day."

With nearly a hundred people showing up this Thanksgiving from places like Redding, Cottonwood, and even from Hong Kong, at this stop, you're guaranteed to be treated like family.

Pollard Flat Food and Fuel is an iconic local business that was found in 1922.
