Iu Mien community cooks for Bear Fire survivors and responders

The Iu Mien American National Coalition (IMANC), Butte Iu Mien American Association (BIMAA), Oroville Iu Mien Community, and Shasta County Mien Community were at the Lakeside Market in Oroville making food for anyone who needed it.

OROVILLE, Calif. - The lu Mien Community came together to help those in need.

The Iu Mien American National Coalition (IMANC), Butte Iu Mien American Association (BIMAA), Oroville Iu Mien Community, and Shasta County Mien Community were at the Lakeside Market in Oroville making food for anyone who needed it.

They were serving dishes that had steamed rice, beef larb, bamboo and chicken, eggrolls, and water.

The President of the lu Mien American National Coalition Joe Liow said they were making food for firefighters, law enforcement, first responders, displaced victims of the Bear Fire, and really for just anyone who needed it.

“I see a lot of people here today and we are of one regardless of race or ethnicity we are of one. So we are happy to provide some services and fill that need for anyone in the community,” said Liow.

They made about 500 dishes to handout.
