Flooding causes evacuations in Humboldt County

Flooding from Eel Creek has forced evacuations in parts of Humboldt County.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. - Flooding from Eel Creek has forced evacuations in parts of Humboldt County.

The Red Cross has opened an evacuation center at the Fortuna Fireman's Pavillion.

The Office of Emergency Services says the river is peaking over 25 feet at Fernbridge. 

In Scotia, the water levels are just under the flood stage. 

In Arcata, the Mad River exceeded the flood stage at 24 feet.
