JONES VALLEY, Calif. - Firefighters from Cal Fire Shasta Trinity Unit knocked down an early Friday morning fire that destroyed a garage in Jones Valley.
Scott Corn, assistant chief with Cal Fire tells Action News Now, the fire was reported around 7:30 a.m. by witnesses in the area of Elk Trail West, northeast of Redding.

Two water tenders and five engines from the agency arrived on the scene to find the garage in flames.
It took about half an hour to knock the flames down which were contained at the garage. There was no spread to vegetation or the home nearby.
It is unknown if the homeowner was nearby or how many occupants there are in the home nearby. There are currently no reports of injuries, the cause is still being investigated.
