Firefighters quickly contain vegetation fire north of Artois

The Willows Fire Department coordinated the response to a vegetation fire that involved four different properties at County Road 27 and Highway 99 north of Artois

Updated 4:48 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 - The fire has been contained. According to an official at the Willows Fire Department, no name was given to the fire. They say units from Orland, Artois, Willows and Capay responded to the vegetation fire which was contained at 4:21 p.m.

ARTOIS, Calif. - There is a five acre vegetation fire burning north of Artois in Glenn County at Country Road 27 and Highway 99.

The fire response is being managed by the Willows Fire Department.

According to officials four different properties are involved. The location is near a bark plant close to Highway 99.

The fire was first reported at 2:54 p.m. on Saturday.
