Firefighters contain 5-acre fire in Biggs

Firefighters were able to quickly contain a 5-acre fire in Biggs on Tuesday.

UPDATE 9:54 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019 - Firefighters were able to quickly contain a 5-acre fire in Biggs on Tuesday. 

The fire was first reported around 4 p.m. on Tuesday near Almond and Palm Avenues along the Feather River. 

The incident commander told Action News Now that the area is notorious for human-caused fires.

BIGGS, Calif. - CAL FIRE crews are responding to a fire that broke out near Almond Avenue in east Biggs on Tuesday.

Fire officials first reported the fire just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. They say it is about 2 1/2 acres in size. 

There are currently no structures threatened.

The last two days saw quite a bit of rain in Northern California. Today we could see more but the showers look to be more isolated today than in previous days. Highs today are expected to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s.
