CHICO, Calif. - Chico police and fire crews worked together to put out a fire that broke out at a homeless encampment on Tuesday.
Fire crews responded to the area of Little Chico Creek near Olive Street and Humboldt Avenue, Tuesday afternoon. Police said thanks to citizens in the area who reported the fire, crews were able to clean up the fire before any major damage to the area or environment around the creek.
No damage was done to the environment around the creek or homes, officers said.
