Firefighters contain 63-acre vegetation fire north of Corning

Firefighters contained a 63-acre vegetation fire northwest of Corning on Monday.

TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - Firefighters contained a 63-acre vegetation fire northwest of Corning on Monday.

The fire was first reported around 11 a.m. off of Paskenta Road and Canal View Road. 

Crews worked to extinguish the fire by 12:30 p.m. 

There were no injuries reported and no structures were threatened. 

Officials have not released the cause of the fire, but they said it was not because of an escaped controlled burn.
