BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The forward progress of the Farris Fire has been stopped, according to Butte County CAL FIRE.
The Farris Fire was 81.5 acres and burned in rice fields. It held at roads nearby.

Firefighters remained at the fire for a few hours to mop up.
Winds out of the south pushed the fire but it never threatened any structures.
CAL FIRE said the fire was spreading at a moderate to fast rate of speed.
The fire is burning near Farris Rd. off of Colusa Highway.
There have been no evacuation orders or warnings issued.
CAL FIRE said the fire was caused by equipment and broke out at 2:45 p.m.
