Mountain Fire: 600 acres, 100% contained

The 600-acre Mountain Fire that erupted August 22 in the Jones Valley area northeast of Redding has reached 100% containment as of 5:00 p.m. August 26.

REDDING, Calif. - The 600-acre Mountain Fire that started Thursday, August 22 in the Jones Valley area northeast of Redding has reached 100% containment as of 5:00 p.m., August 26. 

STRUCTURES DESTROYED

As of Monday morning Aug. 26, CAL FIRE said 14 structures were destroyed and seven were damaged.

WATER BOIL ALERT

Shasta County Public Works are telling those in Jones Valley to boil any drinking water or to use bottled water. This should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation. The advisory is until further notice.
