SAN BERNADINO NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. - A firefighter has been killed in the El Dorado Fire burning in the San Bernardino National Forest.
The U.S. Forest Service released a statement saying the firefighter died Thursday fighting the fire. The cause of death is under investigation and the firefighter's identity was withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
Cal Fire investigators say that fire was started by a botched pyrotechnic device used at a gender reveal party over Labor Day weekend in Yucaipa, about 70 miles east of Los Angeles.
