CHICO, Calif. - Firefighters quickly put out a fire on top of the Chico Target store early Friday morning.

The flames were reported on the roof just after 2:30 a.m. Friday at 1951 E. 20th St.

Ed Gonzalez from the Chico Fire Department told Action News Now there were several employees inside, and some construction workers near the front.

The construction workers were the ones that called 911, they were there to work on renovations.

They were all told to evacuate as firefighters worked on hosing down the flames.

Fire crews were able to attack the flames using their ladder trucks and contain the fire.

Nobody was hurt during the time of the incident, at no point were other structures threatened.

Part of the fire department's suppression was sending a crew inside the building, to make sure there was no damage to the store.

Chico firefighters said there should not be any interruption to business at the store.
