OROVILLE, Calif. - The Oroville Fire Department will conduct a 100-acre prescribed burn around the Oroville Airport on Tuesday.
Fire crews said this burn is necessary and will clear the area around the airport of dry grass that is "readily ignitable" and has the potential to carry fire quickly.
The fire department said this is a chance for crews to refresh their skills of managing vegetation as they prepare for fire season, while also reducing potential hazards to the community.
